Paper Snowflakes

 

     Cut snowflakes ahead of time,  for those who are not able to cut out a snowflake.  

     Leave the snow flake folded after the shapes are cut into it,  and let individuals open the snowflake and paste a picture in the center of it.  

     To start, fold an 8 1/2" square of typing paper in half.  Then fold  1/4, and then once more.  Cut a simple pattern. (At the end of the folded point of the paper,  start the cuts at 1  1/4" -   This makes the  solid space in the center of the snowflake for pasting  a picture.)

An opossum  afraid of the dark?  I don't think so,  but once I wrote a puppet play of that sort, called Marcy,  Afraid of the Dark.  

      It was a sleep over,  and   the girls inside the house, in the middle of  a black  rainy night, heard a noise outside. 

What was  it?  They went to investigate.  

Amy sent the dog down the hall first. 

And Emily,  crept  around the corner, and  curled up her fist, and punched  the air just in case there was something out there monsterish to hit. 

The rattling sound was coming from the garbage can out on the porch. 

The  lid was partially pushed over, and   with a flashlight, the girls peered into it. 

Beady black eyes stared back at them. It was just a cute little opossum not  playing dead!
